Other than that we unfortunately had to feel the power of mother nature this morning. after days of heat there was an enormous thunderstorm this morning with rain and hail showers. here is a picture of a tree in front of the Fond Of Life Rec HQ. unfortunately some lower rooms were flooded and stock (posters, cds, vinyl, t-shirts, packing material etc) got damaged, some destroyed.

big summer update...
dear all,
it is crazy how time flies. it is june, the sun is shining and the birds are singing. we have been busy since the last short update and thus i will give you an insight on what happened since then.

in april SMILE AND BURN have been on tour throughout the UK and just for this little tour their debut album 'Flight Attempt Of The Kiwi' has been released as a limited edition 12" vinyl. there are still some copies of this awsome orange vinyl left so get yourself a copy if you haven't done so yet!
FOL048 was next on schedule. MIKE SCOTT's new acoustic punk tunes have been released on his debut full lenght 'Saturation Point'. it contains 17 awsome new songs and to support it MIKE SCOTT has a busy touring schedule all over the UK and mainland Europe.
out next was the second release on Fond Of Life Records by Lincoln's finest THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS. the boys have scheduled tons of shows all over the UK and mainland Europe for the rest of 2011 to support this gread melodic punkrock album called 'What Keeps You Breathing'.
FOL050 is reserved for the new and third edition of our 'This Is Fond OF Life Records' compilation series. we had to postpone this release but it is now scheduleed for a release in late fall.
a new melodic punkrock band from berlin, germany is called THE DRIFTWOOD FAIRYTALES. the fourpiece has joined the Fond Of Life Records Family to release their debut full lenght 'Trailer Parks And Unicorns' on June 20th 2011. we will release the album on both 180g vinyl and on a very nice digipak CD. following the release THE DRIFTWOOD FAIRYTALES will be on tour all over Germany together with labelmates SMILE AND BURN for about two weeks.
FOL052 is our catalognumber for a five song EP by IN BEAR COUNTRY from Vancouver, Canada. The band around Stu McKillop (ex-DAGGERMOUTH) has released these five songs as a preview to an upcoming full lenght album we will release towards the end of 2011.

hey all,
i hope you had a great start into 2011.
it's february already and yes, we have new releases coming up soon. here is the plan up to april.
our good friends in SMILE AND BURN want to keep up the good work and tour as much as possible these days. early april they are going to be on tour throughout the UK and just for this little tour their debut album 'Flight Attempt Of The Kiwi' will be released as a limited edition 12" vinyl.
just about a week later MIKE SCOTT will feed you with new acoustic punk tunes and a new release called 'Saturation Point'. look forward to 17 awsome new songs and a busy touring schedule all over the UK and mainland Europe.

two weeks ago our good friends in Smile And Burn have played the release show for their debut album Flight Attempt Of The Kiwi here in Berlin.

Counterpunch from Chicago, IL USA...
hi all...
last time i told you about Smile And Burn from Berlin, Germany. as promised here is the second new signing.
we are happy to announce that Counterpunch from Chicago, IL USA will release their new full lenght on Fond Of Life Records. The band was formed by some scene veterans
(including ex-members of Hopeless Records' artist Break The Silence) out of a love for solid melodic pop punk.
All the ingredients of a great punkrock band are combined in the best possible way! vocal harmonies, a sense of melancholy, catchy hooks and melody lines and a distinctive pop appeal which gives their songs that slice of singalong madness we all like so much.
at the end of october, early november 2010 the guys will be over here in europe in support of the new release Heroes And Ghosts. check them out now and listen to some of the new tunes on their myspace page.

new FOL Bands and Releases...
Wow, what a busy last month that was with the great highlight last weekend when we had three FOL bands playing one of the biggest punkrock festivals in Europe - Groezrock. ANTILLECTUAL, HIGH FIVE DRIVE and MUTE were the lucky ones...
From now on you can preorder our upcoming new and 40th release V/A - This Is Fond Of Life Records Vol.2 in our online shop. Official release date will be 21st of May 2010. The compilation will be a nice price release to give you an overview on the latest FOL activities. 23 Songs make up just over an hour of quality music.
A few weeks later we will rerelease FAILSAFE's remastered first record What We Are Today over here in Europe as the album has never really made it over here. It's just too good so we push it out here a bit.
During the summer two new bands will join our evergrowing FOL family. First is another UK band from Brighton called FROM PLAN TO PROGRESS. We have met them again and again over the years and so it was not a question when they asked if we could release their new full lenght. Watch out for this powerhouse...
Second newcomers are SMILE AND BURN from Berlin, Germany. We are really happy to be able to present you these five friends as they are lovely guys full of positive energy. They will blow you away...

Kevin Seconds joins the family...

HighFiveDrive
We are pleased to anounce that we have signed HighFiveDrive from Winnipeg, Canada to our roster. We will release their third full lenght album throughout Europe and will help them release it in Japan. Scheduled release date for FOL034 - HighFiveDrive - Full Blast will be April 13th 2009.

Welcome to 2008...
We all hope that you had the chance to get some rest over the xmas holidays and that you had a great start into 2008. We have been busy as always and so we can present you the first pack of awsome news in 2008. Here you go!

Another great band joined the Fond Of Life Family. We are proud to present you Antillectual from Holland. This melodic and political punkrock trio will release their debut album on Fond Of Life Records called "Testimony" in early March 2008.
Right now the boys are on tour through Belgium, the UK and Germany. Please find all of the dates on our tourdates page. For those interested in the band there is a tourdiary with newsposts every day. Find the blog here!
We are proud to present you the first totally free release Fond Of Life Records has ever released. Mike Scott came up with three new acoustic tunes plus three coversongs by The Connells, Propagandhi and Phinius Gage. After his first release on FOL called "Massacre Songs" his new and totally free release is called "...At The Slaughterhouse". Download it now for free here!
Super Absorber from Landau, Germany have just recorded eight brand new songs at the MinorFatDiner Studios. This melodic punkrock band will release their second output on Fond Of Life Records early 2008. We had the chance to listen to the first mixes and they sound awsome.
By now we also have released the debut album by This Is A Standoff from Canada.
You might have heard of them already since it is the follow-up of what used to be known as skatepunk wonders Belvedere.
We are very proud to be part of the new band that has already toured Europe last year. They will be back on european stages during april so make sure to check our tourdates page.
Still hot is M-Sixteen. The hardcore punks from Paris, France just released their debut full lenght on Fond Of Life Records. Go and get their self titled album here. It comes in a nice package. Also make sure to check them on their upcoming european tour. Find all details on our tourdates page.

November on th road...
3rd Alley will be on tour throughout California, USA from November 14th - November 21st in support of Josh Fischel from Bargain Music . You will find them anywhere between Long Beach and Chico.
Astpai will be on tour throughout Europe together with Giving Chase from Philadelphia, PA USA. They will be touring Austria, Germany and Holland starting November 23rd - December 8th.
Once Over will be on a headlining tour throughout the UK from November 24th - November 28th.
This Is A Standoff will be on tour in support of The Johnsons throughout Alberta, Canada from November 9th - November 18th.

This Is A Standoff & FOL airplay
We are proud to let you know that another great band joined the Fond Of Life family. This Is A Standoff from Calgary, Canada will release their debut full lenght "Be Excited!" on Fond Of Life Records. And boy, we are excited, having in mind that Steve and Graham from Belvedere are in the band. Release date will be anounced soon!
Astpai, Phinius Gage and Straightaway were added to the playlists for two great radio stations - so make sure to check the online pages where you can listen to the shows. Lohro Radio 90,2 MHz and Hellfire Radio 100 MHz.

3rd Alley, Once Over and Mike Scott...
Californians 3rd Alley added new musicians to their lineup. The three peace is now a group of five. Drummer Mudd left the band and was replaced by Todd Elrod from Bargain Music, new on second guitar is Chris Bradford from Glue Factory and new on sax is Todd Forman who once played in a band called Sublime. The boys are in the studio right now and will play what they call November Bender Tour throughout California starting November 15th.
Once Over will be in mainland Europe next month. Starting September 21st they will be on a 10 day trip through holland, belgium and germany. Watch out for their dates.
Also on tour will be Mike Scott. The bassplayer for UK skatepunk band Phinius Gage will be on solo acoustic tour with Kelly Kemp singer from UK skapunk band No Comply. Their 10 day trip throughout the UK will start October 4th.

This is our first news post on the new Fond Of Life homepage.
I hope you like the new page so far and please bare with me - we will upload the whole thing page per page so please check back on a regular basis to see whats new.
Upcoming Fond Of Life releases
We are proud to announce the release of two new Fond Of Life outputs.
First there will be a 11 song solo album by Phinius Gage Bassplayer Mike Scott. It will be stripped down acoustic melodies -
folk, punk, easy listening, whatever you want to call it.
The debut album by Mike Scott entitled "Massacre Songs" will be our second acoustic release. The release date will be around late september/early october. Mike Scott will be on a full tour with Kelly Kemp (ex No Comply) throughout the UK in first two weeks of october - so check out his myspace page for dates right now!
Second new release will we the debut fulll lenght by M-Sixteen, a Paris based Hardcore/Punkrock band. The release will be later this year - so please check back to find more information soon! For now please check their myspace page to find some of the album's tunes.
